LIVE ABOARD FISHING SAFARI OR SHORE BASED TRIPS
Here you will stay in Hamata. Here you have the possibility to make fishing trips per day from your hotel or you can book the fishing safari! The fishing safari is carried out with the mother boat where you go trolling during the day and bottom- and/or shark fishing at night. You will stay on board of the 22 metre long mother ship where you will eat and sleep. You can also book this option together with one or two fast centre console boats and then you will go out during the day for popping and jigging along the numerous reefs in the south of Egypt!
This is a true adventure you can book as an exciting week-long or more fishing safari to the most beautiful reefs in southern Egypt. There is a maximum of 8 people per mother boat on safari! If you choose to go for the daily fishing trips from the hotel, you will stay at the Wadi Lahmy Resort Hotel in Hamata. This 4 star hotel is very comfortable, has two private swimming pools, beach, diving club and is fully adjusted to western standards. You will stay here on an all-inclusive basis in a double room.
In the south of Egypt there are a large number of beautiful reefs where the underwater flora and fauna flourish. The fishing is great! You will encounter few or no other fishermen and under the guidance of the IGFA certified captain there is a catch & release policy regarding popping and jigging. You can go trolling or bottom fishing but also popping and jigging. You fish for (Dogtooth) tuna, wahoo, dorado, giant trevally, barracuda, Spanish mackerel, etc... Throughout the year there is a good and varied fishery with something for everyone.

Hotel
You will stay in the luxurious 4 star Wadi Lahmy Resort Hotel based on a double room. The stay is on an all-inclusive basis which means that all meals are provided as well as soft drinks, water, coffee and tea. Alcoholic drinks are available at extra cost. Meals are served in buffet style with plenty of choice and something for everyone.
The rooms are spacious, cool and they are equipped with large sliding doors, air conditioning and satellite TV. Towels and bedlinen are of course provided. The resort has its own dive centre and other (water sports) facilities which can be booked on site for an additional fee. Furthermore, there is a private beach and two large outdoor pools with in 1 of them a built-in bar and there is also an animation team for children. This option is therefore ideal to book with the family, partners or several couples. While the fishermen are busy with 'other things' during the day, the remaining partners and children can enjoy themselves at one of the swimming pools, the beach or with the animation team.
Mother boat
If you choose to go on a fishing safari, you will stay on the decently equipped 22-metre long mother boat. The boat is equipped with GPS, fish finder, generator, radio and complete cartography of the Red Sea. The boat has three double rooms, two shower/toilet combinations. Furthermore, guests have access to a spacious foredeck, aft deck, terrace and dining area above deck in the shade. Furthermore, there is a TV with DVD, kitchen and is thus perfectly equipped to host a fishing safari of a week or more!
On the spacious shady upper deck you can relax after a day of hard fishing while enjoying a drink and watch the sun go down and admire the stars. The boat will be sailed by an experienced captain who knows these waters well. If the group consists of 7 or 8 people, an even larger mother boat will be used with four double rooms available on board. This boat obviously has the same equipment as described above.
For this fishing it is necessary to bring your own equipment. For popping, a rod of around 2.4 to 2.7 metres and a casting weight of up to 250 grams is required to be able to cast the desired distances to the reefs. For jigging a short sturdy boat rod of up to 50 lbs is desirable. This in combination with a very fast retrieving reel and a sturdy braided line of around 30 kilos of breaking strength. As a leader a 150 lbs shock leader of 1 to 1.3 meters is used.
The mother boat, to sleep on, is no less than 22 meters and is spacious and comfortable. It has 3 double rooms and an upper deck (with shade) where meals and drinks are served. If you still feel like it in the evening, you are of course free to cast your fishing rod again! Of course there are 2 toilets and 2 showers on board and bed linen and towels are provided as standard.
The two centre console boats are 9.7 meters long and are both equipped with two 85 HP engines. They are equipped with all desired (safety) equipment and can accommodate up to 4 anglers each. They are perfect for this fishing and offer maximum fishing comfort due to the walk around construction. These are the best fishing boats available in this part of Egypt!
The season actually runs all year round. Temperatures range from 22 degrees in December to over 30 degrees in July. There are only five rainy days a year. It is a perfect destination to completely unwind and focus on fishing. Fully cared for, super weather and big fish. What more could you ask for? All periods have their own peculiarities when it comes to fishing but you can really go here all year round.
You have to fly to Marsa Alam. There you will be picked up and brought to the boat or hotel (depending on fishing safari or daytrips) for the first night. You will stay 6 nights with full board and sleep in double rooms. From now on you can fish 24/7 until you return in Hamata after 6 days of fishing. The last night you will stay in the luxurious Wadi Lahmy Resort hotel on an all inclusive basis to catch your breath. Both trips can be organized for 2 to 8 anglers. But beware! This is also a perfect location for the partner or the rest of the family to relax on the beach or by the pool at the resort or apartment.
Depending on the number of participants, choice of boat and periods, this trip is available from 1.595,- euro per person excluding flight. This includes: local transport, own fishing boat with double rooms, all meals, water, last night hotel stay, harbour fees, local taxes etc. You will stay 6 nights on board and the last night in the 4 star hotel. Additional costs are about € 25,- pp visa fee to be paid upon arrival in Egypt, drinks on the spot, flight ticket and tips for the crew. Please note: We have 4 mother boats at our disposal so we can also organize a group trip for larger groups (angling clubs for example). Ask for the possibilities!
