This top destination is located on the island of Smøla. Between the cities of Kristiansund and Trondheim and opposite the island of Hitra, and is a real gem. In the south west of the island, this fish camp is sheltered between the many islands. Because of this position you can go to the north west as well as the south east for fishing. So the chance of losing a fishing day due to windy conditions is small. After you have sailed by ferry from Sandvika to Edoy in 20 minutes it is only a 10 minute drive on this beautiful island to get to your destination.
Read here the article of 9 pages by Ties Ittman in the “Zeehengelsport” about this location.
The island is much quieter than Hitra but offers at least the same quality, if not better, for fishing. The many islands offer stunning views and the island itself is also very beautiful. It is a beautiful environment where nature continues to amaze you. It is a true Eldorado for outdoor activities such as kayaking, hiking but especially FISHING!
At this location we have 12 modern homes at our disposal, all located directly at the water and offering a magnificent view at the mountains of Tustna. The houses are all equipped with free wireless internet and offer a lot of comfort. The kitchens are fully equipped and have a dishwasher as well. There is floor heating in the bathroom and of course the living room has a TV. All guests have free access to a freezer, washing machine and dryer in the service building.
With regard to the fishing, the waters around the island offer the best conditions for successful fishing. The varied natural bottom structure of the island is also maintained under water and therefor offers top spots for fishing. In addition to shallower areas near the islands, there are extensive areas with depths of up to 200 m. On the west side of the island, the Gulf Stream flows directly past which is an important source of food for many fish. It therefore goes without saying that Smøla is one of the best places for fishing with a great biodiversity in Norway.
Besides sea fishing, the island also has a few lakes where you can fish for trout. So if you want to spend a day fishing with lighter equipment, this is an ideal place to visit.
