You can choose from two locations to stay, namely Sudureyri and Flateyri. In these locations, there are 5 and 9 holiday homes in which to stay, respectively.
The fishing here is outstanding. It is varied and you can target cod, coalfish, haddock, catfish and redfish here. If you want to take a break after a morning of heavy tackle, it is actually an idea to fish for flatfish with lighter gear, for instance. And these are not one-pan sizes! All in all, the fishing here is very diverse and among the absolute best in Europe. Our extensive digital brochure describes the spots and methods in detail!

The fishing here is excellent. It is varied and you can focus on cod, coalfish, haddock, wolffish and redfish. If you want to take a moment's rest after a morning of “heavy fishing” it is a nice idea to fish for flatfish with lighter material. And the average size is way better than in Europe! All in all, the fishery here is very diverse and is part of the European top. In our extensive digital brochure the spots and methods are described in detail!

Sudureyri:

There are five different shelters here in two categories. These are sailorhouse and captainshouse.

1. Sailorhouse flats with 3 bedrooms with a total of 6 single beds, fully equipped kitchen with cooker, oven, coffee machine, fridge and living room with dining area
2. Captainshouse: new spacious flats with 3 bedrooms with 2 single beds each, fully equipped kitchen with cooker, oven, coffee maker, fridge and living room with dining and sitting area, washing machine, dryer and dishwasher.

Flateyri:

Here we have 9 good accommodations in the Sailorhouse category. These houses are spacious and Canadian-style with 6 single beds each, fully equipped kitchen with cooker, oven, microwave, coffee machine, fridge and living room with dining area.

Distances to the boat are 200 to 300 metres. On site, a small supermarket is just a few minutes' walk away. On-site guidance is provided by Icelandic staff and a German- and English-speaking man on site. They will support in equipment selection, the best spots, boat instruction and other questions.

The island hotel

On the way back, you will stay here for 1 night. It is a particularly practical hotel. You stay here in a 2, 3 or 4-bed room and also get breakfast in the morning. Should you wish to stay an extra day to go on an excursion in Reykjavik, an extra night can be booked for €100 per person.

For this trip, the arsenal ranges from the light sea rod for flatfish to the 20 - 30 lbs boat rod for the serious sizes. Don't think you can get away with one size less because a halibut weighing 175 kg has been caught here! So be well prepared and do not hesitate to bring the best and strongest equipment for this.

At the location itself, you have perfect fishing boats that meet the highest (safety) requirements. GPS, fish finder, life jackets, marine telephone, life raft, first-aid kit, etc. The boats are 7.85 metres long and equipped with 130 hp engines. The deck offers plenty of space and they can be sailed without a licence.

The season runs from April to September and, as in many northern European destinations, it is necessary to bring good water-resistant clothing. But in the summer period, it is also quite possible to end up spending the day in a t shirt. so be well prepared.

The trip heads to Reykjavik on Tuesday or Friday afternoon where you will then be taken directly to the location by coach. Your luggage will be taken to your home by truck. Then you will fish until Tuesday and return by bus in the morning to Reykjavik where you will be dropped off at your hotel for the last night.

On site at the airport and at the venues, staff will be on hand to give you directions locally and to whom you can ask any questions you may have.
